Meet The Fawkner Park Team

Jack Glennane

Director
Jack has been with VTA for 12 years and is the Operations Director overseeing the delivery of tennis at Fawkner Park and Powlett Reserve. Jack is a TA Club Professional Coach and Tennis Australia FITBIT Cardio Ambassador. He helps with the training and promotion of Cardio Tennis in Victoria, and has an active on-court presence, coaching a vast range of players and programs at all VTA venues.

Alex O’Rourke

Venue Manager
Alex has been involved with VTA on and off over the last 15 years, she is an accomplished junior player, having played pennant at state level, trained with the Victorian institute of Sport, was an Australian Junior clay court doubles champion and attended the prestigious Evonne Goolagong Cawley Tennis Academy in Queensland. With a wealth of tennis experience and knowledge we are excited to have Alex back on the team. Ethos- Empowering young juniors, and to be a strong advocate for the growth of Women’s Tennis.

Laurence Blackman

Head of Coaching
Laurence is ‘Head of Coaching’ at Fawkner Park and is responsible for all on court areas of the coaching program and VTA team. He is a Tennis Australia Club Professional Coach with 15 years of national and international experience. He has lived and coached in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and 8 years in Asia. Laurence’s experience and understanding of national and international coaching methodologies hold his developmental teaching methods at the highest level. He has a strong passion for continuously upskilling and learning new and innovative coaching techniques.

Jose Mainella

Senior Coach
Jose is a Tennis Australia qualified coach and holds a ITF level 2 tennis coaching certificate along with a degree in Physical Education. Jose is patient, enthusiastic and polite, his infectious energy ensures students have a good time during lessons and feel comfortable while learning. He has 12 years of experience working with both beginner and advanced students. Jose joined the VTA team 2019 Jose and wants to continue developing his career as a career coach in Australia

Charlie Corsini

Senior Coach
Charlie joins us from the UK where he has attained his LTA Level 4 coaching qualification. Charlie brings a lot of energy to his coaching, and has a keen eye for detail. As well as coaching in the UK, he has also coached internationally across Europe. He also has a Level 3 Personal Training qualification, which has given him a solid bio-mechanical understanding that he applies to his tennis instruction. As a junior, Charlie regularly competed for his County including playing at the prestigious Queens Tennis Club.

Max Lambert

Sonaal Asthana

Senior Coach
Sonaal is a Tennis Australia Junior Development Coach with over 6 years of on court experience. He joined the VTA team in 2020 and brings a wealth of experience from his playing days in India and excelle’s in the delivery of Hotshots. Sonaal has an infectious personality which shines through on court, he loves to interact with people and enjoys helping all players develop their game. Sonaal holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and has his sights set on being a career professional coach.

Jessie Mount

Coach
Jessie is an experienced Tennis Australia coach working both in Australia and abroad. Jessie spent the last 6 years in the United States playing Division 1 college tennis along with obtaining a degree in psychology and a masters in clinical mental health counselling. Jessie is bubbly, loud and passionate about her tennis. She particularly loves the mental health benefits that tennis can provide. She aims for students to have fun and enjoy playing while also getting a sweat with her high intensity pace classes. She has worked with students of all ages and from beginner level to high performance. Jessie first joined the VTA team in 2018 and endeavours to continue to get as many people involved and loving tennis as possible.

David Hoyer

Systems and Communication
David commenced with VTA in 2022 and oversees the enhancement of customer experience across VTA’s multiple venues, including the management of competitions, memberships, events, communications, branding and systems integration. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Communications & Digital Media, is a member of Tennis Australia and brings a wealth of knowledge across service and retail sectors. As a former playing member of VTA, David holds an inherent understanding of the VTA customer base. His objectives are to develop a unique tennis journey for each customer, enabling growth of community and overall member participation. Still an avid tennis player, you can find David playing on court on his days off across Fawkner Park, Caulfied Park and Powlett Reserve. Originally hailing from Denmark, he draws inspiration for his tennis game from his fellow countryman, the young Danish dynamo, Holger Rune. David actively seeks customer feedback to improve efficiencies and ensure optimal service delivery – make sure you make yourself known next time you visit VTA!

Josh Goodwin

Bella Cullity

Coach
Bella has been playing tennis with VTA for over 15 years, starting off as a student and then in 2019 as a coach and administrator. Bella is a Tennis Australia TA Member and Qualified Coach. She graduated high school in 2021 at Lauriston Girls School whereby she was appointed Sports Captain and is now currently completing her Batchelor or Nursing Degree at ACU. She is heavily involved in the Kinderwhizz program at Fawkner Park and helping all students develop the tennis skills and knowledge.

Adrian Medina Gomez

Coach
Adrian is a Qualified Tennis Australia Junior Development Coach with 5 years of on court coaching experience. He joined the VTA team in 2021 and brings energy and motivation to all tennis players who want to progress. Adrian has an accomplished playing experience, in his youth being top 15 in Colombia’s national ranking and being part of his university’s tennis team where he studied Social Communication and Sports Journalism. Sport integrity is one of his main focuses within Tennis coaching.

Imogen Bickford

Immi has been involved with VTA since the age of 5. She is currently in her final year of school at St Michael’s Grammar whereby she holds the Tennis and House Captaincy. She is a Tennis Australia Coach Member and aspires to encourage women in sport. She has a fun and warm energy which she brings on and off the court, Immi’s natural ability with the kinderwhizz and Aussie Mossie age groups makes for a lot of fun in her classes.
